Completed in December 2004 with Kahn Design Associates

The house was built on the garage concrete walls left over from the Oakland Hill fire. On top of the garage are the three main volumes connected by a glass stair tower. The transparent middle volume with all public spaces slightly turns to orient itself toward the beautiful view of the San Francisco Bay. The top volume steps back and gently touches the steep hill through a private garden. The house was constructed economically with efficient structure and minimal excavation.
